1. Acceptance of terms

By creating a Gakko account, onboarding a school, or using the Gakko website or apps, you confirm that you (or the school you represent) accept these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy.

2. The service

Gakko provides school management software covering attendance, fee collection, homework and communication, transport tracking, report cards, substitute-teacher management and related features, accessible via a web dashboard and mobile apps.

3. Accounts and eligibility

• A school is onboarded by its authorized representative (owner/admin), who is responsible for the accuracy of school information and for managing staff, parent and student accounts within Gakko.
• Admins are responsible for keeping login credentials confidential and for all activity under their school's account.
• Each school's account, students and staff records are separate and isolated from every other school on Gakko.

4. Plans, free trial and billing

• Sprout is free, for up to the student limit shown on our pricing page.
• Grow, Bloom and Sensei each include a 3-month free trial from the date a school's paid plan is activated. No charge is made during the trial period.
• After the trial ends, the school's chosen plan is billed per-student, monthly or annually as selected, until the plan is changed or cancelled.
• Fee payments collected from parents are processed through the school's own Razorpay account; Gakko's subscription fee (for paid plans) is billed separately to the school.
• A school may cancel or downgrade its plan at any time before the next billing date to avoid the next charge; fees already billed are non-refundable except where required by law.

5. Acceptable use

Schools and their users agree not to: use Gakko to store or transmit unlawful content; attempt to access another school's data; interfere with or disrupt the platform's operation; or reverse-engineer the software. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.

6. Data ownership

All student, staff and school data entered into Gakko belongs to the school. We process it only to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. A school may export or request deletion of its data at any time.

7. Intellectual property

The Gakko name, logo, software and website content are the property of Dyutilife Pvt Ltd. Nothing in these terms grants a school or user any ownership right in the Gakko software itself.

8. Service availability

We aim to keep Gakko available and reliable, but the service is provided "as is" without guarantee of uninterrupted availability. We are not liable for outages caused by third-party providers (payment gateway, push notification service, hosting infrastructure) outside our control.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Dyutilife Pvt Ltd's liability for any claim arising from the use of Gakko is limited to the fees paid by the school for the service in the preceding three months.

10. Termination

A school may stop using Gakko at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account for non-payment (after the trial period), breach of these terms, or unlawful use, with notice where reasonably possible.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts where Dyutilife Pvt Ltd is registered.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Continued use of Gakko after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
